Service Lumber Company distributes low-grade mixed hardwood lumber and softwood lumber. Primary markets include steel mills, steel processors, and steel fabricating companies. The steel-related customers use hardwood primarily for shipping steel products. The hardwood is often used to encase the steel or as cross pieces under the steel products to allow room for a forklift or cables underneath.
